Mike Livingston, CEO

Dr. Livingston has been the CEO of Azimuth since 2007. During that time Azimuth has steadily grown its revenue and built upon its expertise in basic and applied research to include management support for diverse government programs. Customer service and efficient internal processes have been the hallmarks of that expansion. Azimuth’s employee friendly workplace was recognized by being awarded the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Workplace Flexibility.

Dr. Livingston has been instrumental in building small businesses since his retirement from the US Air Force. He has successfully lead several small businesses from start ups to market leaders in their fields. He has worked with numerous government agencies to develop solutions to a myriad of different requirements all within customer budget and schedule.

Dr. Livingston earned his PhD from the University of Arkansas and served in the Air Force as a Bio-medical Scientist, Bench Scientist, Acquisition Project Manager and Strategic Technology Manager.

Valerie Rossi, President and Founder

Ms. Rossi established Azimuth Corporation in 2001 after spending many years as a contractor supporting large and small organizations. Azimuth was launched to provide the government with the skill, expertise and effectiveness of a large corporation combined with the highest levels of professionalism and agility of a small corporation. By establishing firm protocols and utilizing best practices from both large and small organizations, Azimuth has grown significantly over the years and continues to provide excellent service, competitive pricing and exceptional customer service.

Ms. Rossi is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business. She manages employees, organizes budgets, set priorities and devises strategies to help Azimuth achieve its corporate goals. Ms. Rossi has over 20 years of experience in the management of government and commercial projects, including numerous large programs for the Air Force, Army and Navy.

Charles Rossi, Vice President and Founder

Mr. Rossi is one of Azimuth’s original founders.  He has been in the defense industry for over 25 years, having worked with both small and large businesses in support of the Army, DLA, Navy, DHS, and the Air Force, as an expert in contracts, operations, proposal development, business development, and program management. Through his career Mr. Rossi has been involved in R&D programs, SBIRs, management consulting, process improvement, and operations within both the large and small business environments. As Azimuth's Vice President, Mr. Rossi establishes new business strategies, oversees teaming, joint venture initiatives, as well as Azimuth’s interface with government agencies. He currently serves as Secretary for his local Rotary International club and as a member for the Oakwood High School Engineering Board.

Mr. Rossi graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics in 1986.

Geralyn Rudat, Director of Business Development

Ms. Rudat has over 18 years of experience in defense contracting in the areas of project and program management, financial and acquisition management and proposal and capture management. She independently manages proposal timelines, coordinates the proposal development team, and identifies and researches potential opportunities for senior management review. In addition, Ms. Rudat leads initiatives that support business development efforts – case studies, past performance documentation, resumes, bios and other materials. Ms. Rudat has extensive experience supporting DoD programs and is also responsible for cost estimating, IDIQ delivery tracking, and project control activities.

Cindy Schneider, Financial Manager

Ms. Schneider is a precise controller and financial/accounting manager with 30+ years of extensive expertise in all aspects of accounting and financial management for companies in technology, marketing, manufacturing and sales/distribution, including 8 years in government contract accounting. She contributes to the company’s growth and success by identifying cost-cutting measures to increase profitability, has streamlined accounting systems and reports to ensure compliance with government accounting requirements, and has successfully completed multiple audits and acceptance of indirect rates by DCAA.  Ms. Schneider has comprehensive experience with analysis to improve processes and profit opportunities.  Areas of expertise include budget preparation and execution, reporting and documentation, GAAP, cash management, job cost/contract accounting, payroll & taxation, and general accounting.


Ms. Filson, Financial Manager

Ms. Filson has over 15 years of experience in corporate accounting with both privately and publicly held companies. Most recently she was a Corporate Controller for a $120M publicly traded manufacturing company with multiple US locations. She has extensive experience in cost accounting, financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley and financial planning & analysis. As the Finance and Accounting Director for Azimuth, Ms. Filson will oversee all aspects of financial management and planning including cash management, payroll, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and taxation for all Azimuth locations.

Ms. Filson received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 2001 from Wright State University and a Master’s in Business Administration in 2003 from the University of Dayton. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the state of Ohio.

Meg Gujer, Human Resource Manager, Facility Security Officer

Ms. Gujer has over 30 years of experience across all administrative areas within the defense contracting industry.  She manages the human resource programs of the organization including coordinating the efforts of Azimuth’s recruiter and generalist staff.  In addition, Ms. Gujer manages the facility security program of the organization which includes ensuring all industrial security requirements are met to maintain the facility security clearance of the organization.  Ms. Gujer has extensive experience supporting both external and internal customers through the human resource and industrial security functions of the organization, and works to supply exceptional customer service to both through her departments.

Jonah Nelson, Dayton Business Lead, Program Manager

Mr. Nelson has a decade of experience in the defense industry, supporting customers in areas of industrial base analysis, project planning, and project management.  Prior to working in the defense industry, he spent seven years as a product design and development engineer in the automotive industry.  As the Dayton Business Lead and Program Manager for Azimuth, Mr. Nelson will oversee planning and execution of Dayton-based programs, managing a team of scientists, contract management/execution personnel, and an array of sub-contractors.  He is also collaborating on joint venture initiatives and leading Dayton business development efforts.  

Mr. Nelson received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 and a Master’s in Business Administration in 2006, both from the University of Dayton.


Michael S. Miller – Regional Director of Operations (Washington D.C.)

Mr. Miller has over 14 years of experience working in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. Prior to working in the defense industry as a civilian, he was an aviator aboard Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft in the U.S. Air Force. During his career, he has continued to actively support the ISR community as an advisor, project manager and subject matter expert in various organizations to include Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM), Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and most recently the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSDI).


As the regional director, Michael directly supports the Azimuth executive leadership by overseeing the Washington D.C. regional operations to include program management, business growth and client relations. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theology and Philosophy.
