Azimuth Awarded AFWERX SBIR Contract for AI-Based Project
The Award Paves the Way for an AI-enabled Digital Material Management Solution to Assist in Acquisition of and Contracting for SoA AI Technologies

(BEAVERCREEK, Ohio) – Azimuth Corporation announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a SBIR contract in the amount of $74,937 focused on creating an open architecture AI-enabled Digital Acquisition Management solution (ADAM) that leverages generative AI to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF). The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and eliminating bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018 which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded and now on May 15, 2024, Azimuth will start its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.

“The DOD is making a fundamental shift to incorporate the power of AI into the battlefield and ADAM will bring AI to the front lines, where it can empower and protect our warfighters,” said Azimuth President and CEO Valerie Rossi. “We’re excited to bring another AI idea to life for the DOD—particularly for AFRL and AFMC, given our longstanding partnership with them.”
